There it is, in all its glory. Golden Delicious Eau de Parfum, a just-released collaboration between DKNY and celebrity jeweler Martin Katz, costs a whopping $1 million.
Let's look at the stats on this sucker: 2,700 round white diamonds (that's 15.17 carats), 183 yellow sapphires, 14-karat yellow and white gold, 14kt. white gold making up the Manhattan skyline, and 2.43 carats of yellow canary diamonds.
And that's just the cap.
The base of the bottle is a replica of the Earth in the form of rare jewels, encased in glass.
As for the fragrance, it's said to mix florals like white rose, casablanca lily and vanilla orchid with spices like musk, sandalwood and teakwood. If that sounds like your kind of scent, don't fret the cost — it's available in stores for $42-$75 in a much more modest container.
For those of you sniffing at the extravagance of it all (admittedly, my initial reaction), all of the proceeds of the sale of the $1 million bottle are going to the charity Action Against Hunger. So the world's most expensive bottle of perfume is actually a roundabout way of donating money to charity with a creative marketing twist. Hard to hate on that!
