Carlos Campos Men Spring/Summer 2012

This was my first brush with up-and-coming menswear designer Carlos Campos, and it was entirely positive. His latest collection shows how to design clean, modern clothes for guys that doesn't try to break the mold (which is nearly impossible to do in menswear — you're just not going to get guys to wear skirts or patchwork jackets or whatever). Slim-cut, cropped trousers, safari-style jackets, geometric-print button-ups and a navy, melon, baby blue and tan palette — great choices for a style-conscious dude who doesn't want to stick out for anything other than looking nice.

My favorite part of the collection, though, wasn't Campos' pieces — it was the shoes. I'm pretty much in love with these graphic-print oxfords by The Generic Man. They're fun with a smidge of attitude and would look perfect with a pair of jeans.
