Prabal Gurung's show at New York Fashion Week last month was amazing. It opened and closed with top model Joan Smalls storming down the runway through an ominous cloud of blue smoke. The clothes had a mix of feminine details (ruffles, feathers, sheers), tough prints and slouchy silhouettes. A few pieces had a sporty, futuristic vibe, made all the more interesting in stiff red and white fabrics. I loved the evening gowns and could definitely see them popping up at award shows this spring.
