Hey.

I'm Mary. It's nice to meet you. This blog is a tiny space on the internet to document my musings on style, travel and culture. Enjoy!

OUTFIT POST: Nighttime pleats and sparkles

photos by vera pashkevich

Thought it'd be fun to take some night photos in a sparkly black top, and I was right. Seattle is rather tepid weather-wise these days. I wasn't prepared for such a brisk summer. Where's the scorching hot sun and suffocating humidity? I miss it. You look at a map and it's a heatwave everywhere except for the tiny northwest corner, which is literally 30 degrees cooler than everywhere else.

Anyway, the outfit in these photos is entirely thrifted, as per usual. I found the Jason Wu for Target pleated black skirt at a Salvation Army in the 'burbs. The sparkly top hails from from a thrift store in Minnesota. I found the hat at a roadside thrift in rural Minnesota. The black Sam Edleman wedges came from a Nordstrom employee sample sale (also known as heaven on Earth). Oh! But my necklace! My beloved antique gold-plated brass collar necklace from a Turkish seller on Etsy! I love it a lot. It's not quite short enough to be worn under an actual collar, so I wear it as a traditional necklace. It's fun.
