The search is over. I finally found a commuter bag that meets all of my qualifications: structured black leather; raw edge; flat bottom; longish straps; large enough for my wallet, planner, makeup, heels, scarf, lunch and whatever I happen to buy on my walk to and from work. I was so sick of carrying two bags — my smaller crossbody satchel and a canvas tote. ​It's been two days now, and I can already tell this puppy is gonna be a staple in my day-to-day life.
