Hey.

I'm Mary. It's nice to meet you. This blog is a tiny space on the internet to document my musings on style, travel and culture. Enjoy!

Weekend warrior

Once again, my weekend has totally flown by. I could really use a third day.

What's everyone been up to? I went out for drinks with friends on Friday, and spent Saturday afternoon exploring some thrift stores in Shakopee, Minn. with the lovely Angie of Fuck Yeah Rockabetty. We happened upon the awesomest Mexican restaurant. Super cheap and tasty. Very little English spoken. Just the way I like it.

I didn't buy as much as I usually do thrifting, mostly because I'm trying to force myself to be pickier. My closet is full of items I once loved for five minutes, then never got excited about again. After yesterday's trip, I came home with two skirts, a scarf, a teeny tiny shoulder bag and a Dionne Warwick record for less than $20.

Last night, Meg and I went to a Fleetwood Mac tribute show, featuring five local bands covering a million different Fleetwood Mac songs in a million different ways. In other words, my idea of heaven.

My camera was having weird technical issues that I wasn't sober enough to figure out, so I didn't get many photos, unfortunately. I did, however, run into some awesome people, including Target designers Lisa Venne and Kristina Bell, the event's organizer, Jen Hughes, Metro web editor Dana Raidt, and Ellen Dahl Lawson of The Minneapoline, who probably got some great style shots as people were dressed to the nines last night.
